Featuring Simultaneous exhibition at Gold Coast Convention and exhibition Centre with:

 

 Super Grandmaster Alexei Shirov, one of the most famous and best chess players in the world for a decades.

20 first registered players will take a part  from 4 PM-8PM, on Sunday 27 September 2009. LIVE GAMES with MONROI from a Simul will be transmitted!

From 8-10.30 PM, on Saturday follows lecture and Interview with Grandmaster Shirov. Entry fee for a Simul and Lecture $150

The Parents who kids are involved in a Simul are entitled for free entry.

Rating limit for a Simul:  >>>>Maximum  2000 ACF or FIDE

Observation and Lecture Entry fee for a registered tournament players: $20 per person.

Entry fee for a public , not involved in Surfers Paradise Chess Tournament  or a Simul >>>$30.

Sunday: Rd 5  9.00AM, Rd 6  11.30 AM

Presentation 2.30 PM

at 4pm Simul with GM Shirov for registered players

FORMAT: Six-round Swiss

TIME CONTROLS: 60 min + 10 sec per move

PRIZES: 1st $1000, 2nd $800, 3rd $500  4th $300  5th $250  6th $150    

Under 2000 rating:  Prizes  1st $600  2nd 400  3rd $200

 

 

SURFING SECTION ( Under 1600 ACF rating- 6 Rounds Swiss): 

 ENTRY FEE $80 

 

Schedule: Same as Open / Paradise section

            

PRIZES: 1st $600, 2nd  $400,   3rd  $250, 4th $150 5th $100  

2 rating groups: 1st 100  2nd $50

 

 

FUN SECTION ( 1 day )  for  all players, unrated or up to 1000 ACF rating:

For beginners and parents. Restricted to players with old /high ratings. Junior rated event!

No clock, no recording of moves 5 Rounds. Limit per round 40 minutes.

Sunday only, 27 September  from 9.30-2.00 PM
